Looking at the Different Types of Laminating Equipment

When you laminate something, you’re doing it for one purpose and one purpose only and that is to preserve the quality of the material being laminated. There are several benefits to laminating materials because by stiffening the object, it makes it easier to hold, mount to a wall, or refer to in a binder. However, what many people don’t know is that there are two primary different types of laminating machines, and those are hot, and then cold.

Differences Between Hot and Cold Laminating

Cold laminating is far easier than operating a hot laminating machine because it doesn’t require any electricity to operate. So, the moment you’re ready to laminate, the machine is too. Solo cold laminators are safer to use because there are no materials being melted down and you control the speed in which the object moved through the laminator.

Although it may seem like solo cold laminating machines don’t provide enough adhesive because there’s no melting application, don’t worry. Cold laminating equipment functions as tape, so whatever it touches, it seals to. There’s no wasting extra lamination material because it can also be trimmed down just as easily as hot lamination equipment.

Lamination equipment is a very useful tool to have at your place of work. Once you begin laminating documents, you won’t be able to stop because it ups the quality of whatever the object is. Folding through a binder during a meeting is so much easier when the pages are thicker rather than trying to peel two thin pieces of paper apart, don’t you think? We do too.
